From August 10 through August 13, 2010, AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) members and the City of Sioux Falls Sustainability Program are hosting an Eco Camp for Kids between the ages of 6 to 12.
A four day fun-filled and educational adventure session teeming with environmental activities.
Kids will learn about:
- Recycling
- Ecosystems & Nature
- Green spaces & Conservation
- Health & Exercise
- And Much More!
The camp will be held at Sertoma Park, located at Sertoma Avenue and Oxbow Avenue, rain or shine. Two sessions are being offered; there is a morning session for ages 6 to 9 from 8 to 11 a.m., and an afternoon session for ages 10 to 12 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Registration is free based on a first-come, first served basis; however, space is limited.
To register, please contact Aimee Ladonski or Drew Price at the City of Sioux Falls Sustainability Program, at 605-367-8695.
The Eco Camp will focus on how the environment impacts you and how you impact the environment. Each camp day has a different theme with activities to further educate the youth about our environment. Topics covered will include recycling, nature, green spaces, conservation, nutrition, and exercise.
